Volume #5 - Old-Time Gospel Hymns for Guitar (Key of C)

Vol #5 is written in the Key of C - which now begins to challenge the new guitarist and is more fun for most experienced guitarists - the main chords being C, F & G. If you started with the other volumes, F is the new chord. F is one of the dreaded bar chords but can also be played as an open chord. Once you have F down, the switch between F and C is fairly easy. The songs are arranged from two chords songs, progressing up to seven chords, all the while staying true to the melody and to the key often found in church hymnals.Each song shows the Key and Time signatures. I tried to maintain the correct chords in each song so that you could play along with the other instruments and yet be easy to learn/play. This book is an excellent starting book for a Christian who is familiar with hymns but new to the guitar. Christian guitar teachers could use the book for teaching the new student. Experienced guitar players will be able to use the chords and yet maintain their own specific style that fits their personality.The reason I chose to separate by key signature is that it makes it easy to go from one song right into the next. This could be really useful for prelude or postlude music or for doing medleys.
