Pastoral Sculptures (Lunchtime Reads Publications Art Series Book 1)
Author: Lisa Oliver
Format: Kindle Edition
Although I have been a writer for many years over the past two years I have turned my attention to art. The idea was to learn how to express myself in ways other than words. It is often said that a picture can paint a thousand words and in a lot of instances I would believe that, but when I came to compile this book I had to resist the strong temptation to “explain” everything in words. Yet to do that would have been to undermine the effect of the images contained in this book.
At first glance some of the pictures in here might appear to be of no or little significance. The pictures are photos I have compiled over the last year of rural Northland – a truly rugged and yet beautiful place. However my contention in this book is that any picture, any scene can be considered “Art” if viewed with that perspective. Photography is an art form in itself but the question I would like you to ask yourself, as I have done throughout this book, is that are the pictures in this book considered Art purely and simply because I told you that is what they are?
